The Rescuers
Steven Lawrence and Rob Fruchtman (pictured above with camera) have begun production on a documentary about grassroots activists who are dealing with the enormous stray and feral cat problem in NYC (there are over 1 million, compared to 56,000 homeless people). The Rescuers tells the stories of four extraordinary Brooklynites who are dedicated to rescuing cats and using TNR – Trap, Neuter & Return – to humanely control and reduce the population. We’ve been shooting since early summer and will be doing a fundraising campaign this fall so we can continue filming. More details soon.
