Blueprint for Accountability: Working the Dark Side
TV Special. Link TV.
"Working The Dark Side" is a multi-media production that explores the US policy of torture in the "War on Terror." Fusing intense discussion, live performances and film clips, it was hosted by Rachel Maddow and featured Pulitzer-Prize winning author Ron Suskind, Vince Warren of the Center for Constitutional Rights, and Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez, who commanded US troops in Iraq during 2003-2004. The performances, based on reporting by Suskind and Seymour Hersh of The New Yorker, featured Liev Schreiber, John Leguizamo, Noah Emmerich, and Julianna Margulies. The event was staged at the NY Times Center by Fisher Stevens, and produced and directed for Link TV by Steven Lawrence. This except features the program’s intro and John Leguizamo’s performance of “The General’s Report,” a first-person account of how General Antonio Taguba was forced to resign from the Army after publication of his investigation of torture at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
