Healing The Wounds of War 

Instructional Video. Trauma Healing Institute.

 

In 2013, trauma therapist and author Peter A Levine, PhD asked Steven Lawrence to produce a video that would tell the recovery story of a former Marine and combat veteran named Ray, whom Levine had been treating since 2008. Ray had been diagnosed with PTSD and traumatic brain injury following an IED explosion in Iraq. Working with footage of several therapy sessions between 2008 and 2012, Steven and editor Peter Shelton crafted a 25-minute video that is now being used as an educational resource for mental health practitioners working with military personnel. Dr. Levine is the founder of Somatic Experiencing and author of "Waking The Tiger: Healing Trauma."
